Use Google maps, or any other with an aerial view and look at south western Nebraska and north western Kansas. Look close to the area where Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska meet. Zoom in on the green areas. Now start counting the number of center pivot irrigation systems. Note the size, these are not the size of your back yard some are 1/4 - 1/2 a mile across! They have pumped the water table down several HUNDRED feet. There must be half a million just in these two states alone.
