"Science does not understand the sources of CO2" should refer only to 'climate science'. Real scientists understand that the Earth has two heat sources, the fusion of the Sun and the fission within the Earth's mantle. With 4 ppm Uranium and 8 ppm Thorium, Earth has plenty of fissionable material. Matter is neither created nor destroyed, so the higher order atoms create multiple lower order atoms during fission. These new 'elemental atoms' are under high heat and high pressure and rapidly form 'elemental molecules'. These molecules include CO2, H20, SOx, NHx and CH4 to name a few. Elemental CO2 does not have the same C14 ratio as atmospheric CO2. In the Antarctic, the food chain is supported by single celled Archaea which thrive on the CO2 and CH4 diet in 0C waters. The result of the lower C14 diet is that fresh killed seals and penguins have a Carbon date age of ~3,000 years. Along with this CO2 storage, there are ten times the proven underground reserves of Methane locked in constantly forming seafloor Methane Calthrates. If you exclude the Earth's fission energy and elemental molecule production you have no hope of understanding this planet.
